The Time is Now to Fight Back!

I remember reading some where that not only is America one of the most obese countries in the world, but also that within the next 10 years over 70% of the population will be considered to be "Obese", with 35% being considered morbid Obese. It is expected that if the same eating and health related trends continue in our country that over 49% of the population will be morbid obese within the next 20 years. That is less than 2 decades away ladies and gentlemen. Wow. Imagine all the heal related cost that will bring to this country. Also take into consideration that any Post baby boomers will be almost ready to retire within the next 20 years. Do you see where I am getting with all this. Rise in heal care costs, more health related issues such as diabetes, heart conditions, and so on. Medical studies show a higher probability for Cancer for obese and morbid obese people. If within the next 20 years almost half the population will be Morbid Obese or three fourths of the population Obese, then in essence that means that 75% or 3/4 of the whole united states of america will be at a high probability risk of Cancer. Wow. Is this scary or what? Imagine it were already 20 years from now. Where would you be? Would you be part of the huge obesity statistic? What other health related problems would you have? Consider this post a mirror look into the future 20 years from now. Now, Today, is the time to Fight Back and win the war of obesity. We can do this if we continue to set our hearts and minds to it.

I went from 493 on 12/27/07 to 478 today 1/2/08.

Low Carb Fix

Cooking low carb meals can be easier and faster than you think. A huge problem that some of us on low carb diets have is that we get hungry and need something to eat fast.

For quick snacks you will want to keep these items handy:

Hard Boiled Eggs - These are great for fast snacks; a quick breakfast for those that don't like a big breakfast, salads, Make a dozen or so at a time, peel them and store them in the refrigerator in cold water. Reach in and grab one when you get a little hungry.

Cheese - Cheese is very important in a low carb diet. It's not a must have, but it's a tasty way to get some dairy product into your diet. Cheese makes a great addition to salads, a great topping for burgers or even a great stand alone snack. These would include shredded, sliced, string and hunks of cheeses varying from cheddar to mozzarella.

Snacks - The first thing that comes to mind is pork rinds. These no carb snacks go a long way in fulfilling a lot of low carb needs.
It really couldn't be any quicker and still be healthy to get your in your low carb “fix”.

Who will be the 2008 Biggest Loser?

I will be the biggest loser in 2008. Actually, we all can be the biggest loser in 2008. It's all about settingt our hearts and minds to making weight loss our ultimate goal for 2008. This a great time to set new goals for yourself. Broken any goals in the past? This is the time to start all over again. Success is not about being perfect. We all have our set backs, however, what we do with those setbacks at the time determines whether we truly continue towards success of failure. Therefore, failure in itself is not failing unless we give up and give in. As you can see and will see as time goes on and I share with you all my experiences of being an obese person, if you want to win the battle of being a big loser in 2008 in losing all the weight you want or need to lose you have to first win the battle in your mind. What you accomplish on the outside is only a by product of what is on the inside. You have to push forward as if you are already where you want to be otherwise you lose momentum. This is a new year and a new start for us all, no time to lose anything, but the pounds. Have a great day!
